3 car repairs we all need

Three car repairs we all need are apparent but will still surprise you to know why.

Oil Changes
We all know we must get our oil changed but do we know why? It’s isn’t as essential of a car repair, as they say, is it?

A regular oil change keeps your engine running smoothly with the minimum wear and tear. Get your engine oil changed before the engine oil pressure light comes on!

For older cars, repair jobs are more prominent, and they should be getting an oil change every 1,500 to 2,000 miles or every three months.

Newer vehicles, however, require a little less maintenance and can go up to 5,000 miles before needing an oil change or any car & auto repair. Some even pushing it out as far as six months apart depending on the mileage driven.

Brake Work
Brake work should happen routinely in the form of brake pads and rotors being turned; this is an unavoidable car repair.

Rotors need to be rotated regularly and replaced every 20,000 to 60,000 miles.

The front brake pads and rotors do most of the heavy lifting and will need to be changed closer to the 20,000-mile mark while the back ones will run closer to the 60,000 miles.

Wear and tear on your brake pads is a standard car repair and will happen multiple times over the lifespan of your vehicle.

When brake pads and rotors aren’t appropriately rotated, they become warped and overheated; correctly turning the rotors allows for smooth braking and creates less heat and friction than the warped pads could.

Coolant System
Coolant systems will need car repair routinely to avoid leakage and overflow.
Long-term neglect can develop coolant leaks in the radiator or radiator hose.
Over time the thermostat that allows coolant to circulate may become stuck in the closed position or a clog may develop due to debris in the cooling system.
Additionally, the radiator cap may wear out and cease to hold in the coolant allowing it to boil out; engines usually operate from 210 to 220 degrees Fahrenheit.

We all need these car engine repairs, get yours taken care of today.
