We spend much of our busy lives in our cars. It makes sense that they need a little freshening-up every now and then.

Here are a few tips you can use to keep your car smelling fresh.

Has your vehicle long since lost its new car smell? A car doesn’t need to be brand new to run smoothly. At DJ’s Auto Repair we use the highest quality replacement parts, filters, oils, and components on every car we see. A certified car mechanic will work to keep your time-tested vehicle running smooth.

1. Vacuum with baking soda.

When you finally get around to vacuuming your vehicle, make it count. Sprinkle baking soda on the upholstery and carpet of your vehicle. When you vacuum make sure you reach every area you’ve sprinkled with baking soda.

Baking soda naturally deodorizes the area and will keep working to neutralize odors even after you vacuum.

2. Keep a dryer sheet handy.

Dryer sheets are handy to have in your vehicle for a few reasons. One is to quickly deodorize the interior of your vehicle if it has begun to smell stale and your friend needs a ride. Simply use the dryer sheet to dust the dash and console of your car and your car will smell fresh as if you just cleaned it.

It should be noted that this quick dryer sheets fix is not a substitute for cleaning. Eventually you will need to do some cleaning to keep your car smelling fresh.

3. Clean with vinegar and water.

White distilled vinegar is a great cleaning solution for those who would rather avoid cleaning with harsh chemicals. Vinegar naturally neutralizes odors

4. Use essential oils.

Love to use essential oils around the house? You can use them in your vehicle too. Make your own diffuser by gluing small pom poms to a clothespin. Drop a few drops of your favorite oils onto the pom poms and attach the clothespin to one of the vents inside your vehicle.
